Seattle University's Entrepreneurship Center and VenLogic to host Venture Capital Seminars

Seattle University's Entrepreneurship Center and VenLogic LLC, will host "Venture Assessment & Action Plan Roadmap," on December 12th 2001, the first in a series of advanced executive programs for companies actively seeking capital.

Along with SU and VenLogic, other hosting partners for the December 12th program include: Morgan Stanley, Investment Forum, NASDAQ Insurance, Zurich Scudder Investments, International Angel Investors, Venture Analytics, and Diamond Funding Network.

Attendees of the program will meet a panel of active private investors who will discuss which attributes and features in a deal get them to invest. Attendees will leave with personal introductions to the insiders and domain experts the VCs use to improve deal quality and valuations. They will also learn: how to use professional consulting tools that save time and money for identifying the major obstacles and goals - visually; NASDAQ's programs for mitigating risk; Venture Analytics approach to positioning your deal for maximum investor mind-share; plotting your personal wealth journey right from the start from Zurich Scudder investments.

This co-sponsorship began after Robert Kruse, SU MBA program alumnus, Managing Partner of VenLogic, and former SU adjunct professor, launched a "ventern" training program, an internship program for aspiring venture capital associates. In the spring of 2000, as a part of the co-sponsoring with VenLogic, Seattle University had 10 SU MBA students participate in this program, meeting with venture capitalists and incubators in a trip to Silicon Valley.

SU Student "venterns" received private equity shares for their participation in restructuring a startup company deal that resulted in the raising of capital and recruitment of management, as a part of the "ventern" training program. VenLogic subsequently donated a matching grant of shares, to coincide with Seattle University's first ever donation of private equity.

"We were impressed with the VenLogic program from the beginning and strongly encourage all programs that teach students how to give back," said Denis Ransmeier, Vice President of Finance for Seattle University who accepted the donation.

"Those early training programs led to valuable refinements now available to executives in next week's program. Today our faculty consists of proven leaders with direct, relevant experience in the venture-financing marketplace facilitate VenLogic's programs," said Robert Kruse, Managing Partner of VenLogic. "We can plug student entrepreneurs directly into the educational content while creating a personal relationship with the same insiders the VCs use. VenLogic's equity marketing programs are the perfect fit with Seattle University MBA and entrepreneurship programs."
